Tamara (aka Nana Jewel) was born and raised in Wollongong, NSW. She has experience in belly dancing since 1999 and has studied ATS since Tribal Jewels formed in 2004. Tamara enjoys ATS because of the relationships formed with her dancing sisters. She loves the eye contact with dancers, the smiles, winks, and talking with the eyes- mid performance! Attributes to our troupe are dancing with props such as stick, and colourful festival wings. Tamara is confident at leading in duets & trios.

After studying Creative Arts for 6 years Tamara finds the costume making a very enjoyable creative process.

Tamara manages a unique clothing store in Figtree, where she sources some of her costumes. Tamara draws inspiration from her fellow dancers, family, master teachers, music, and her local environment. Interests are spending time with her husband and Groodle, & going for walks on the beach with them on Sundays. Tamara always ends her day with a good cup of tea!
